Vintage electronics

For this project I had to remove both deck A and deck B fully so that I could get inside of the decks themselves and replace the old rubber belts that drive the player. This project was quite difficult do to the locations of the belts and how small the belts are. To get to the belts the front plate, back plate, the casette reader and all the motors and housings had to be taken off just to get to the belts. Once everything was off, the belts were pretty easy to swap out, the only issue was that the old belts had melted and left a residue that would not come off with regular cleans and would stain skin. Afterwards everything went back together well and the unit was back up and running to its fullest ability.

For this project, I had to replace 3 fuses, 1 capaciter, and tie a new string to the tuning wheel. This project was my first and my easiest. I had no issues with this unit and it just took a little solder and time. This unit is now working perfectly and sounds amazing for tech thats 50 years old.
